Casino Blackjack Strategy

Strategy is very important to successful casino gambling. Use it and you will be able to beat even the most well-known professional. Glance through casino news sections and you will easily find many stories of amateurs winning enormous sums by beating professionals. How did they do it? Yes, hey were lucky, but without the skill and without using appropriate strategy they wouldn't have been able to make use of their luck.

• Remember that if you bust you will lose even if the casino busts as well.
• Take note that the casino plays after you and so play accordingly.
• The object of the game is not to reach 21 but to reach a sum that is higher than that of the casino and closest to 21. Don't forget this because the casino has to take cards until it reaches 17!
• If the casino has a two it has a 35% chance of going bust.
• The casino has been dealt a three it has a 37% chance of going bust.
• If the casino has a four it has a 40% chance of going bust.
• The casino has been dealt a five or a six it has a 42% chance of going bust.
• The casino has a seven? It has a 26% chance of going bust.
• The casino has been dealt an eight it has a 24% chance of going bust.
• If the casino has a nine or a ten it has a 23% chance of going bust.
• The casino has been dealt an ace it has a 17% chance of going bust.
• If the casino deals you an ace and you have no choice but to count it up as 1 then play according to these rules:
  1. If the casino is dealt a high card (7 to Ace), and your sum totals 12 to 16, take another card because there's very little chance that the casino will go over 21. Hence you need to take another card to improve your chances of winning with a higher total.
  2. Stand if your hand totals 17 to 21 because there's a high change of busting.
  3. If the casino is dealt a low card (2 to 6), you should stand if your sum totals 12 to 16 because there's a high chance that the casino will cross 21.
• If the casino deals you an ace and you can use it either as 1 or as 11, play in this fashion:
  1. If you have a soft 19 or 20 - stand and play against the casino
  2. If you have a soft 18, stand if the casino has a 2, 7 or 8.
  3. Hit if the dealer has a 9, 10 or Ace.
  4. Double down if the dealer has a 3, 4, 5 or 6.
  5. Have a soft 17? Hit if the dealer has a 2, 7, 8, 9, 10 or Ace.
  6. Double down if the dealer has a 3, 4, 5 or 6.
  7. Have a soft 16 or 15? Hit if the dealer has a 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10 or Ace.
  8. Double down if the dealer has a 4, 5 or 6.
  9. Have a soft 14 or 13? Hit if the dealer has a 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10 or Ace.
  10. Double down if the casino has a 5 or 6.
• One of the common ways to win more is by doubling down. This means that you double you bet and take another card. Do this only if you are pretty sure you are going to win:
  1. The casino has a sum from 2 to 10, and you have a hard 11.
  2. You have a hard 11 and the casino has from 2 to 9.
  3. The casino has been dealt either a three or a four or a five or a six, and you have a hard 9.
  4. The casino has dealt you an Ace and a 6 or 7 and they have 3 to 6.
  5. The casino shows four to six and you have an Ace and a 4 or 5.
  6. You have an Ace and a 2 or 3 and the casino has 5 to 6.
• If you believe that your cards are weak and you are going to lose to the casino, forfeit the bet. It's better you lose a part of your bet then to lose it all.
• Try and count the cards. It's not as difficult as you think and you don't have to be genius to do this. All you need to do is count the number of ten valued cards that are being dealt. Use a simple system of adding and subtracting 1 when such a card appears or does not appear. But many a casino don't approve of this system and thus to prevent any problems do this discreetly and efficiently to win more. Bet when the sum of your counting is less or equal to zero. If not, place larger bets because the odds are in your favor.
