09/07/2001 13-year-old caught at slot machine
Casino Niagara had a big fall and it had nothing to do with water. For the second time in two months, minors were found gambling in the casino.
This time, Falls Management, the company which operates the casino was fined $112,500 for allowing a 13-year-old boy to play on the slot machines and violating the Gaming Control Act. These youthful jaunts have cost the casino more than $200,000 in the past two months.
The casino has since stepped up security that allowed the teenager to slip by with his 30-year-old uncle in the lax security entrance for patrons over the age of 25. Two months ago, two brothers aged 14 and 17 showed false identification at the door, costing the casino $106,250 while the brother paid out $70 and $130 respectively.
This time, the youth will not be allowed into any Ontario casino until he turns 21 while his uncle has been banned for two years.
