Las Vegas ? Park Place Entertainment Corporation (NYSE: PPE) announced today that Lorenzo Creighton has been named to the new position of corporate vice president of government and community affairs. The announcement was made by Thomas E. Gallagher, president and chief executive officer of the Company, which owns, manages or has an interest in 29 gaming resorts operating under the Caesars, Bally?s, Flamingo, Hilton, Paris and Grand Casinos brands.
Creighton reports to Gallagher and is based in Park Place?s corporate offices in Las Vegas.

Commenting on his new role, Creighton said, ?I?m very pleased to have the opportunity to direct initiatives in government and community relations for the world?s leading gaming company. Creighton, 48, a former judge and gaming regulator, is responsible for Park Place?s government and community-related matters, including relationships with industry groups, its participation in local, state and national political issues, and its involvement in charitable and community-based programs. He joins the corporate management team after serving for six years (July 1995 to present) as the Company?s executive in charge of all operations at Bally?s Casino in New Orleans. He will continue that role in his new capacity. Prior to leading the Bally?s New Orleans property, Creighton was general manager of Lady Luck Casino, in Natchez, Miss. (1994-1995) and general manager of President Casino, in St. Louis, Mo. (1993-1994).

Before beginning his gaming operations career in Missouri, Creighton was executive director of the Mississippi Gaming Commission (1992-93) and deputy administrator for the Iowa Racing & Gaming Commission, headquartered in Des Moines (1989-92). His career also includes service as a magistrate for the First Judicial District of Iowa (1982-85). Creighton has served as a speaker and panelist in numerous regional and international gaming industry conferences.

Born in Waterloo, Iowa, Creighton received a bachelor of arts degree from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. In May 1988, he received his juris doctorate from Drake University in Des Moines. Creighton lives in Las Vegas with his wife, Lisa, and their two children.
